The “Castles and Chateaus Unite Us II” project is a unique initiative aimed at harnessing the rich cultural potential of the Czech-Polish border region, one of the most fascinating regions in Europe. By drawing on tangible heritage resources such as castles and chateaus—these historical gems that tell the story of Europe’s traditions and history, particularly in the context of the Polish-Czech border region—they become a key element of the broader tourism product “European Castles and Chateaus Trail: Poland–Czech Republic.”
This is a continuation and expansion of the “Castles and Palaces Unite Us” project, which was implemented from 2019 to 2021 as part of the Interreg CZ–PL program. The project created a cross-border tourism offering featuring castles and palaces in Lower Silesia and the Pardubice Region. The second phase expands this offering to other border regions, including the Lower Silesian and Opole Voivodeships, and the Pardubice, Hradec Králové, and Olomouc Regions. The goal of this cross-border cooperation is to raise tourists’ awareness of available attractions and promote them, which will directly contribute to increasing tourism in the border region.
Thanks to the “Czech-Polish European Castles and Palaces Trail, ” tourists can fully appreciate the historical and cultural richness of this part of Europe. It is an opportunity to create a new quality of tourism that combines tradition with a modern approach to travel and the discovery of Europe’s hidden treasures.
